Cherie Hanson was juried into the City of Kelowna's Rotary Centre of the Arts as an artist in residence in 2003. Digital photographic and multi-media art is her second career. Having earned a B.A., B.Ed, studied for an M.FA in creative writing and moved on to receive an M.A. in English from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., she taught English, Acting, Video for over twenty years. Continuing her involvement in the arts, she now works full time as a self-employed artist and writer. In 2007, she was one of 61 artists from a juried international show of 847 artists at the Biennale of Contemporary Arts in Florence, Italy that won a jury prize. Her images have appeared on book jackets, on literary journal covers, on CD covers, on web sites and on stage props.
